Riding and Animals
50 players will have had the opportunity to buy a riding ticket. Players with these tickets should be aware that they will be taking care of a living animal, and they will be riding through the North Jutland landscape around Yxengaard.
Riding and horses
The Supplement Rider Ticket will provide you with an Icelandic Horse to ride during the better part of a day on an epic journey. Signing up for this part of the experience requires commitment to have had or getting at least one riding lesson before the larp. There are up to 50 of these supplement tickets available.
The riding happens during the first act of the larp, and the riders will arrive to Yxengaard as a group of travellers from different clans. There will also be a quest tied to the larger story during the journey.
The package the local horse renters provide:
An Icelandic Horse for the better part of a day,
A modern gear for the horse, and
A modern riding helmet.
The horses are not re-enactment trained. They have a carrying capacity ranging between 80 kg & 90 kg, meaning you are unlikely to be able to wear armour. There is no insurance included in the horse rental; you are responsible for your insurance coverage and your health, as is the case with most activities in Denmark. We recommend that people wear the helmet.
The horses will be removed from the location after the first act, shortly after their arrival.
There are a few wild cats who live around Yxengaard, please treat them nicely. Domesticated dogs may be present at the larp.
If you want to bring your animal, please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or send us a message on Facebook.
